Asus ROG Reveals Three Motherboards
-In addition to revealing three new gaming PCs on Tuesday, Asus Republic of Gamers also introduced three new gaming motherboards: the Maximus VII Formula, the Maximus VII Impact, and the Crossblade Ranger, the last of which is the company's very first FM2+ gaming motherboard.
According to ASUS ROG, the Maximus VII Formula is the new flagship Z97-based ATX gaming motherboard. The board includes a new feature called CrossChill Copper, which is a design that removes heat by using a full copper cooling core. The board also includes SupremeFX Formula 2014 audio technology that "rivals" what you can get out of a dedicated sound card. Additional features include ROG KeyBot, FanExpert 3, and mini PCI Express (mPCIe) and M.2 (10 Gbit/s PCIe x2 and SATA 3) slots.
Next up is the Maximum VII Impact, a Z97-based mini-ITX gaming motherboard that's packed full of features including Impact Power II, a full-scale power card for "exceptional overclocking performance." This board also includes the SupremeFX Impact II dedicated audio card and an mPCIe Wireless AC / Bluetooth 4.0 module with PCIe x4 bandwidth. There's also an optional Impact CoolHub card with an LN2 header and two additional 4-pin fan headers.
Finally, ASUS ROG is introducing the CrossBlade Ranger, the company's very first AMD FM2+ gaming motherboard. The company says the board will have all the core "game-boosting" features found on its Maximus VII (Z97) motherboards such as KeyBot, Gigabit Ethernet, and an optimized SupremeFX 2014 audio with SenseAmp and Sonic Studio technology.
Expect to hear more about pricing and availability sometime this week during the Taipei show.
